A Healing Apple Cider Vinegar Drink

Years ago I started suggesting the use of drinking apple cider vinegar to help with candida problems but when I found out that Hippocrates (the father of modern medicine) knew about apple cider vinegar’s antibiotic properties and recommended it to his patients for its healing properties centuries ago I started doing more research.

Apple cider vinegar has anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-viral properties. Among the ailments it’s said to help with allergies, acne, high cholesterol, joint pain, weight loss, rheumatism, arthritis, gout, dandruff, chronic fatigue, candida, sore throat, gum infection, sinus infection, flu, acid reflux, leg cramps and ear infections. It’s also used to help dissolve kidney stones, lower high blood pressure, and it’s also been shown to help with prediabetes and type 2 diabetes by improving insulin sensitivity.

Even though vinegar is acidic, when we drink apple cider vinegar it has an alkaline effect in our bodies. The fact that apple cider vinegar causes our pH levels to become more alkaline could play a large part in it's healing abilities. It also reacts to some toxins in our bodies, converting them into less toxic substances. Our bodies need a slightly alkaline pH balance to be healthy. The typical Western diet creates an acidic pH in our bodies, and many health problems are attributed to this. Taking a tonic containing apple cider vinegar can help restore alkalinity, and therefore assist the body in getting rid of some of the health problems listed above.




You’ll get the greatest health benefits from apple cider vinegar that is made from organic apples, fermented using traditional methods, raw (unpasteurized) and unfiltered. Be sure to drink apple cider vinegar diluted or it eats away at tooth enamel and can cause burns to the sensitive tissues in your mouth and throat. There have also been reports of apple cider vinegar supplements (in capsule form) causing permanent tissue damage of the esophagus. So use apple cider vinegar in liquid form, diluted with water.

I have been experimenting with a few tinctures and so far I found this one to be the best. It has the diluted apple cider vinegar but also has the baking soda and lime juice which are alkaline and help raise the pH. pH is important in decreasing inflammation. Inflammation is the foundational problem to all the above listed symptoms. The only difference in symptoms is how the body decides to manifest the inflammation. Acne is inflammation of the skin, acid reflux is inflammation of the stomach, allergies is inflammation of the sinuses. arthritis is inflammation of the joints. etc. The spices are added to the tincture because cayenne will increase circulation which is beneficial in healing and turmeric has anti-inflammatory properties.

1Tbsp. organic apple cider vinegar
1/2 organic lime squeezed
1/4 tsp. baking soda
the baking soda will fizz, so wait for it to fizz out
a pinch of cayenne
a pinch of turmeric
a pinch of black pepper
1/2 cup warm water

Drink 20 minutes or more before breakfast every day.
Make sure the water is warm not hot, for hot water will change the properties of the vinegar and lime juice.

How to Heal Using Breath


After talking for years to patients about the importance of breathing using the diaphragm and showing them how to do it in order to get more oxygen into the body and decrease stress and tension in shoulder muscles that is as far as I went. It wasn't until recently that I looked into different breathing techniques to use as a tool during times of stress. My assistant was the one who suggested Coherent Breathing. After reading "The Healing Power of the Breath" by Richard Brown and Patricia Gerbarg and using their instructional CD of ten breathing practices I now know what a difference concentrating on your breathing can do to help one feel better.

Coherent Breathing is about training the body to do 5 breaths per minute. That would be 12 seconds for every breath, 6 seconds inhale, 6 seconds exhale. Depending on who we are, we breath too much when stressed or we actually hold our breath, taking deep sighs at times. So Coherent Breathing is a good technique to use to help us regulate it. The beginning steps of Coherent Breathing are:

1)Breathe through your nose with your eyes closed.
2) Taking your time count slowly and silently in your mind as you breathe in...two...as you breathe out...two...repeat this for 2 breaths.
3) Taking your time count slowly as you breathe in...two...three...as you breathe out...two...three...repeat this for 3 breaths.
4) Taking your time count slowly as you breathe in...two...three..four...as you breathe out...two...three..four...repeat this for 4 breaths.
5) Taking your time count slowly as you breathe in...two...three..four...five...as you breathe out...two...three..four...five...repeat this for 5 breaths.
6) Taking your time count slowly as you breathe in...two...three..four...five...six...as you breathe out...two...three..four...five...six...repeat this for 5 minutes.




When you start with Coherent Breathing it is best to find a quiet space and a comfortable place to sit. Start with 5-10 minutes and work your way up to 30 minutes once or twice a day. Most people feel benefits right away. People notice that their mind feels calmer, less filled with chatter and their bodies feel more relaxed. It can be done right before bed while lying down, just make sure you don't fall asleep! Once you feel comfortable with 5 breaths a minute you no longer have to do the beginning steps.

Besides adding it to your daily routine Coherent Breathing can be used during times of anxiety, right in the moment, if you have practiced it long enough or when having trouble sleeping. You can also do it with your eyes open when taking a walk. There is wonderful Coherent Breathing music you can download that chimes every time you should inhale or exhale.

Sometimes there can be problems when first starting to learn Coherent Breathing such as running out of breath, practicing with your nose stuffed up or if five breaths feels too fast. Got Milk? or Got Toxins?  How Toxic Milk Can Be

It is my profession, more so my passion, to help people get rid of toxins in the body and with the right nutrition, help it heal.  For years I have identified milk as a toxin in the body for a lot of people that over time, after healing the body and changing it's biochemistry, the body is able to digest milk again, not as a toxin but as a food.  But after reading that scientists have determined that there could be up to 20 painkillers, antibiotics and growth hormones in a single glass of milk (published here) I am tempted to tell people to not drink or eat it at all!


The scientists say that the traces are so small that consumers need not worry about adverse effects and of course, my reaction is, 'you got to be kidding?!" 

Organic milk typically does not come from cows on antibiotics, growth hormone or a GMO corn diet.  Even better is when you can talk to the farmer himself and ask specific questions on the cow's diet and care.  Until you know for sure, I say the best thing for the body is to stay away or do in very small amounts so it is toxin in, toxin out and your body can detox it without causing much of a problem or stress on the liver, the main detox organ of the body.  If you or someone you know may have a milk sensitivity send them my way to get muscle tested to find out once and for all.

U.S. Supreme Court Calls Vaccines "Unavoidably Unsafe".

I don't think many of us need the Supreme Court to tell us that vaccines are unsafe. It is nice to know that our government sees vaccines that way since 2011 when it was decided (in Section 22 of the Vaccine Act) that Big Pharma no longer has to be responsible for adverse reactions of vaccines or even death. 42 U. S. C. §300aa–22. “No vaccine manufacturer shall be liable in a civil action for damages arising from a vaccine-related injury or death associated with the administration of a vaccine after October 1, 1988, if the injury or death resulted from side effects that were unavoidable even though the vaccine was properly prepared and was accompanied by proper directions and warnings.” §300aa–22(b)(1).


I know I am about 5 years late on this news but since it was just brought to my attention this weekend by a fellow practitioner and I was appalled that our government will no longer protect it's citizens from Big Pharma and then have the audacity to stop protecting us starting October 1, 1988. One example that they use to describe vaccines as “unavoidably unsafe” products— i.e. , those that “in the present state of human knowledge, are quite incapable of being made safe for their intended and ordinary use”—are not defective. As “[a]n outstanding example” of an “[u]navoidably unsafe” product, the vaccine for the Pasteur treatment of rabies, which not uncommonly leads to very serious and damaging consequences when it is injected”; “[s]ince the disease itself invariably leads to a dreadful death, both the marketing and the use of the vaccine are fully justified, notwithstanding the unavoidable high degree of risk which they involve.” This provides that “seller[s]” of “[u]navoidably unsafe” products are “not to be held to strict liability” provided that such products “are properly prepared and marketed, and proper warning is given.”

Please, share this with others for I want to spread the word so people can truly second guess whether or not they want that next vaccine knowing that the government knows it is unavoidably unsafe and will not hold Big Pharma responsible for any adverse reaction you may have, including death.

Oil Pulling with Banyan is the Best!

If you don't know by now, I love oil pulling! It's great for the teeth, gums, immune system, sinuses and lymphatic system. Ayurvedic medicine suggests that sesame seed oil is the best and I agree! But because organic sesame seed oil isn't always easy to find I often suggest organic coconut oil. Sometimes when people are sick I suggest adding a drop or two of oregano oil or clove oil to the oil pulling to make the oil pulling even more potent. Sometimes people complain about the taste of the sesame seed oil or that the coconut oil is hard at first so for better patient compliance I was super excited when I found Banyan Daily Swish. America's #1 Addiction

The concept of a sweet tooth takes on a different meaning when we realize it's not just a matter of liking something sweet after dinner, but sugar in our coffee and an afternoon treat as well. Without the constant sugar boost we feel deprived. Sugar can be a drug of choice, and constantly grazing on even so-called healthy hidden-sugar foods can train a body to demand it constantly. Here's the hopeful news: sugar addiction is not your fault.

“Being addicted to sugar and flour is not an emotional eating disorder,” says Dr. Mark Hyman, author of The Blood Sugar Solution 10-Day Detox Diet. “It’s a biological disorder, driven by hormones and neurotransmitters that fuel sugar and carb cravings — leading to uncontrolled overeating. It helps if things from your diet are replaced with healthy alternatives so you don't feel so deprived.

You can break permanently your sugar addiction in just weeks, without feeling deprived, hungry, or struggling with miserable withdrawal. 100% Pure Makeup Can Now Be Found at Duane Reade!

About a year ago I blogged about 100% Pure makeup. I was super excited to find a makeup line that was chemical and metal free. I hadn't heard about this company until one of my patients came in with it to be muscle tested. I couldn't wait to go to their website and start my own research and it is an amazing company! I now just found out (from a different patient) that they started selling 100% Pure at Duane Reade! It's important to sample makeup and I'm so glad it's now easily accessible. So I went across the street from the office and sure enough, this is what I found!



Most makeups contain not only chemicals but also heavy metals such as titanium and iron oxides that can be toxic to the body but this makeup line uses 100% natural ingredients and most of them are organic too! They use actual fruit to make the colors and for those patients of mine who are not supposed to eat fruit, no worries, putting the fruit on your face is okay. They do have titanium in their makeup with spf so read ingredients carefully not to use those.

I currently use their eyeshadow palette, luminous primer and mascara. I have tried their lipsticks but find the colors too bold for my complexion.
